South Park Creators Warned By Muslim Group

The creators of American TV Show South Park have received an ominous warning from a Muslim group for depicting the Prophet Muhammad in a bear suit



A posting on the website RevolutionMuslim.com issued a warning to Matt Stone and Trey Parker telling them they had been "stupid".

The statement predicted the pair "will probably wind up like Theo Van Gogh for airing this show".

The website posted a graphic photo of the slain Dutch filmmaker, who was killed in 2004 by an Islamic militant.

He was attacked over a movie he made that accused Islam of condoning violence against women

The website also posted a link to a news article with details of a mansion in Colorado that Parker and Stone apparently own.

The episode in question was aired last week on cable channel Comedy Central and showed the Prophet in a bear costume.

South Park has a history of aiming biting satire at politicians, celebrities and the media, and its episodes have often drawn criticism.

The website of Revolution Muslim was down on Wednesday because of what a leader of the group called a traffic overload

The head of Revolution Muslim, Younus Abdullah Muhammad, 30, defended the posting.

"How is that a threat?," he told Reuters.

"Showing a case study right there of what happened to another individual who conducted himself in a very similar manner? It's just evidence."

Muhammad said his group "didn't tell anyone to go to their houses and conduct violence" and he added he is not worried the Web post would lead to violence.

He described his group as an alternative media outlet with about 20 active posters to the website.

Comedy Central, a unit of Viacom Inc that airs "South Park," declined to comment.

They've aired worse in the past so i doubt this will stop them. But i bet they up hte shit out of their security HA HA

I don't understand why Muslims are so pissed about this. They showed Buddha snorting Cocaine and they depicted Joseph Smith, a Mormon Prophet, as a super hero with laser vision. I think, but can't remember exactly, that they showed Jesus smoking something.

So if they can do all of that to other religious leaders the Muslims need to get over it. They just had a bear costume with Santa Clause in it and told people it was Muhammad. Then showed a big black bar with "Censored" on it. Whats the big deal? I don't see Buddhists complaining.

I just rewatched the "controversial" episode. They show Buddha snorting coke like I said before. They gave Joseph Smith superpowers and Jesus was an internet porn addict.

So I'll ask again. Why the fuck are Muslims so mad? South Park didn't even do anything but bleep out Muhammad's name and tell people he was in a bear costume, which he really wasn't. It was Santa Claus.

How is that worse than what they did with Jesus or Buddha? It's not and I don't see anyone else pissed but Muslims.

Not that i am defending them as such. But just because no other religion has voiced an opinion at being mad, why does that mean they should not take offence. If someone mocked something you felt strongly about (granted i agree muslims take some aspects of this way to far), should you sit back and not voice that if there are others who think it is acceptable

the reason mu-slims defend islam so fiercely imho
is because its had the shit kicked out of it for centuries it has never been a great world religion
