| Age old question:
Should it be legalised..?
Should brothels be legalised and managed safely..?
Its the oldest profession so why the sweeping under the carpet in this day in age, only brought to the general publics attention once one of the girls gets murdered, only for it all to go away again very quickly after..?
Are prostitutes not as important as other human beings, does their life mean less..?
Is it a class thing...?
High class call girls get tv series and book deals, normal drug addicted girls on the street don't....

Quite simply yes... providing there is a similar selection process to selecting air hostesses. If you ain't fit you can't fuck!

The trouble with legalising it, as with anything is .Control, power greed then happens. Then the prosituions ends up going underground and then the health of both parties is put as risk again.

| I don't think prostitution is illegal in many countries, is it? Whereas soliciting, pimping and brothels are. I personally think that in terms of moral theory it's [pretty close to] right that way but, of course, that doesn't mean much in practice.
I guess that by legalising and managing brothels properly that the lives of some sex workers could be improved but the evidence seems to show that it would make little difference on the whole. For example, in Australia and some states in America ( don't ask me to name them ) brothels are legal but the human trafficking, assaults, rape, etc associated with the 'underground' sex trade are apparently still rampant.
I think that the real cause of the problem is that people are arseholes and that the real solution is arsenic in the water supply.
