Review: The directorial debut of British filmmaker Gerard Johnson joins the likes of George A Romero's Martin and Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer as a masterclass in psychological horror. Funny, terrifying and with a central character to be both despised and pitied, here's a movie that once seen is very, very hard to forget - not necessarily a good thing.
Playing out in the grubby backstreets of Dalston, North London, the film revolves around the painfully gawky Tony (Peter Ferdinando), an unemployed loner who just happens to be a serial killer. When not trying to strike up conversations with people in the street or getting off on violent videos, he's butchering people in his seedy flat and keeping their corpses for company.

I while ago I was talking to Gaz about this film and he said that on reading a review somewhere, the reviwer stated he needed a shower after watching it. I agree ... it's a dirty, scummy but very real portrail of the dark, sleazy underbelly of our society.
I felt sickly, not because the film contained extreme violence, gore or anything like that but because you can easily walk down your own street now and see the characters and circles they move in.
If you're after some Hollywood style story of a serial killer, this aint it ... infact there isn't much of a story at all. The film starts and finishes, but inbetween gives you a brief glimpse into the world of a 'real life' killer, no glamour bollox here.
The lead was very well acted, he threw himself into the role. You almost start to feel sorry for him at parts.
It's not gonna be for everyone, but I know a few here will 'love' it.
7.5/10
There you go, my best Wossy
