Received this text tonight - It turns out not to be true


John Venables new name is David Calvert, he lives in Fleetwood and has raped a 19 year old girl in school grounds in Warrington. He knows the area as he spent time at Barton Child Unit. Some prison warden doesn't think it should be kept quiet either!

Judge ruled he won't be named as he would be killed. Saves tax payers money if they do with a trial costing over £300,000 to stage.


I hope somebody will leak it from where he was working or staying. Somebody must twig who he is and was soon.

yep i agree i dont think it will be long before its leaked who he is and lets hope he is hung from a lamp post so we can beat the shit out of him with baseball bats

According to today's news this man has had so many death threats he is scared for his and his family's lives........this looks like a new game we are about to play, name and shame poor bastards until we eventually hit on the right one.

A whole can of worms has now been opened up, how are they going to try this lad? All lads of the appropriate age with a sexual or violent conviction will now have the finger pointed at them, news crews will follow every case they can to hopefully get a glimpse of the one that might actually be Venables. I think Jack Straw should reveal him now to protect the ones that will get attack in his place.

David Calvert, 27, is reportedly in hiding after a Facebook and text message campaign claimed he was Jon Venables living under a new identity.

The father of four said: "I want Jack Straw to say, on the record, that I am not Jon Venables.

The Sun newspaper has quoted the 27-year-old as saying: "This is destroying our lives. I've had to take my kids out of school.

"Perhaps if there had been more transparency over allegations against Venables this wouldn't be happening to me."

The Facebook page was set up shortly after it was revealed Venables has been recalled to prison. By the time it was taken down it had attracted thousands of users

Mr Calvert had to cope with similar allegations in 2005 when he lived in Fleetwood, Lancashire.

After telling a neighbour that he had served a sentence in a Liverpool prison, rumours began to circulate about his identity.

Speaking at the time, Mr Calvert said: "People have been turning up at my neighbours' houses with pictures of the killers printed off the internet and saying one of them is me.

"Now I hear that threats are being made and I'm worried that someone will come for me or my girlfriend or hurt my kids.

"I'm too scared to go out of the house now. I have these people saying they will get me out 'no matter what' and I'm terrified at what they might do."

A Ministry of Justice spokesperson said that Justice Secretary Jack Straw would not be responding specifically to Mr Calvert's request, but said: "We can confirm that Jon Venables has been recalled to custody."

I noticed that they won't commit to save this poor sod from his helll over this. Just goes to prove, how gossip can go from comment to harmful intent easily.

I don't think the Justice Dept will ever reveal Venebles identity but will go out of their way to remove others from getting to close. The facebook shut down was one quickly stopped in its tracks.

the missus received this very text yesterday, i thought it was fake straight away as it states he has raped a 19yr old, yet all news reports say that Venables has been recalled to prison following alleged crime of a sexual nature involving a minor, so something just doesn't add up. Plus surely someone would have grassed them up long before now........ i know i would.

What surprises me is nobody has done one of those aged up photo's yet. Like they do on crimewatch etc. That's got me thinking there is some power strings being pulled here. That or the rumour Venebles and Co, had plastic surgery done or were shipped off to Canada, where we seem to send a few criminals and get some of thiers in return.

Maybe that was part of the gagging order, that the media couldn't publish any such picture also. The media do know who and where they are. One of the scum bags was (or still, depending on which one) is still living here in liverpool. Set up in his own place and given an office job, if the reports at the time where to be believed. James Bulgers mum actually found out where and was on well known radio talk show here (Pete Price on radio city) talking about some years ago.

My view on the whole thing is the same as it was when this first broke, and the same for all killers like that and pedo's.... LET THEM GO FREE!!!!!

But they get no government or police protection, no anonymity in the media or otherwise and have to move back to their own place of residence. And any criminal activity that they suffer within the following 5 years will not be investigated..... including their murder!!!!

May sound harsh but just my personal opinion

I understood they were not allowed anywhere near Liverpool it was one of the restraints?

Bring back hanging, although the legal side of me says what about those who were not guilt that would have been hung?

For the likes of these 2 hanging is what should have been done. We put animals down who maim or kill, these kids ought to have had the same done to them.
