Homepage reseting

the missus's computers homepage keeps resetting to kiwee.com.

I have gone into "tools" and "options" and changed the homepage, but it keeps changing back. I have also done a virus scan but nothing showing up.

So any ideas on how to fix it????

It's a nasty virus malware infection.Malaware bytes and spybot both can attack this.


This bugging nusiance is often picked up from downloading indirectly or directly a toolbar/graphic from myspace.

After scannning with malware bytes or spybot or both and in safe mode it should sort it out.. double check that its gone by....

Go to your control panel, choose add/remove program - delete everything about "kiwee"

Check your PC for spyware, virus, etc... you might installed something or click into something that makes the kiwee there.

Worst case scenario. if you're using firefox, remove it all and reinstall. Same for IE etc. It should remove the bug from the add-ons that install. This is where it likes to hide. It is very infectious so don't surf until it is eradicated.

If Firefox:

Tools-Options-Homepage-Change to Homepage of choice-Click Ok.

I had to do it with a toolbar that nothing, and i repeat nothing, could get shut of...

Simplest solutions sometimes work best, did for me anyhoo, and i'd tried RemoveIT Pro, Malware, Track Eraser shredder and just about anything else....
