| Was wondering if you photoshop bufs fancy giving this a go? It's for a Invertabrate club i am a member of. Members have all sorts of wonderful creepy crawlies as pets, from tarantula's, Scorpions, Mantids, Beetles to Cockroaches. It is called the M.I.S.C (Manchester Invertabrate and Spider Club). Something that features a few of the creatures mentioned would be good and obviously the wording, also if anyone knows how to animate as an option on the sig too please This is the current one they came up with for members (granted that creative photoshop is not their forte), but i know from the work i have seen on here that you guys can do a hell of a lot better than that. | |

| Hello TK Trooper, Here's a tutorial to help you to make a sig with an animation. It's not very difficult to do it, but it takes a very long time. The most you have movements, the more you need pictures. Here's the way I do, but I'm sure there's other ways more easier. If it can help you... First thing to do is a detourage of your picture like this on photoshop : Then you have to cut the parts you want to move, like this : It is necessary to reconstruct the missing parts with tool plug (stamp?), as show on the next picture : Then put each picture : the arm, the shield and the body on different layout : Here we have 3 layout Now it's possible to do many copies of the different parts to do the pictures for the animation : Put the arm with the sword UNDER the body, do not forget to place the just shoulder on the joint (articulation) When it's done, move the center of the rectangle to the place of the articulation, it will be more realistic : Then turn the rectangle as below : Now you must do the same for all the pictures you need for the animation : Watch carefully : you have 8 pictures on differents layout for the arm with the sword, 8 others for the shield, and 8 other for the body of the knight. This ONLY to move up the sword and the shield. If you want to move down the sword and move back the shield you must do some copy of the pictures you've already have. Now you must export all the crushed pictures to Ulead Gif Animation and adjust the speed of the animation. You should obtain this : On this picture there is 5 different animations done with the same system : one for the arm and the sword, one for the shield, one for the sky, one for the waterfalls and one other for my logotype. You must be very attentive to your copies on Photoshop and work every animation separately to flatten them then and get back them to mix them and crush them before exporting them towards Ulead Gif Animation. My advice is to cut in every articulation and to remain logic to move the pieces of image to have a satisfactory result. If you already have a video of a spider in movement it can help you. Below another animation than I realized, but it took me approximately 5 days! For example : my sig with Sauron Lord of the Ring have 80 pictures ! Good luck and courage to you... | |

| How to prepare your picture for an animation ?Here's the picture you have at the beginning : As you can see the right side and the left side of the spider are different. For an easier work and a better depiction we are going to do a parallel spider, like this : Now the goal is to erase the blades of grass on the legs of the spider. For this use the tool "Plug" on Photoshop : With the tool "Plume" made a détourage freehand of the spider. It is not possible to détourer all the hairs, but you can make it with the tool "Finger" which crushes the painting when the détourage will be ended : NOW you can use this picture to do your animation as shown on the tutorial. Good luck ! | |

| Have you any better close up photos to use of the critters?
If you are planning to do a car sticker etc, the images will have to be copyright free or else a large can of worms might arise.
If you can provide some images to work with then there is more scope for more folks to join in like TW, ABOC and Gaz.
I'll have a crack at it but I'm not that talented.

| The first thing to be made is to determine a size (format) for the sticker. Then to decide if it will be a square, a circle, a rectangle, etc.... Then, according to the means of reproduction which you go to use you have to give information for colors: 4 colors (four-color process), 2 colors or black and white.
Without forgetting to give the completeness of the texts which have to appear on the sticker, it is also very important for calibrating them.
This informations are essential to prevent the graphic designers from making a document which will not be printable.
I am professional graphic designer it is for that reason that I allows me to say to you that.

| Here is a quick example with the original colors of the image placed on the site. I took a circle for the size (format) but the other forms are possible of course. You can't use this picture because the quality is not good enough for printing. | |

| cheers guys. The pics i already posted are probably the best there was and are all of members T's, so shoud be o.k with regards to copyrighting. But if other better pics can be found and used then with regards to making it into a car sticker or banner is something they will have to decide. but i could at least use it as a sig.
thanks all | |

| Thanks TK Trooper, but as you said there are other people here who can do a nice picture and I hope they'll do ! Of course there's no copyright and you can used it as a sig But remember that the document is not enough good for a sticker. If you need the original work I will give it to you... Without copyright ! | |

I think they are just after anything that looks good, given that this kind of thing is not there speciality

| Hello TK Trooper, I understand what you mind It is necessary to understand that a document for printing does not come true in the same way as a picture for a Web site. The best solution for your friends is to visit a printer who will supply them all the technical explanations, the imperatives of manufacturing and especially: the price of the printing! He can give you standard sizes (formats) and you can determine a budget for the printing together. The price is according to the number of stickers which you will want to print: the more the number is big, the more the unit price of a sticker falls. The first thing to be made thus is to know how much you can pay and then to visit a printer. If you need technical information to realize the document you can contact me when you want. You're welcome my friend | |
