| I installed cs5.5 earlier today and aside from my avatar this is the first image in quite a while... It's just an attempt at making a 'watercolour' out of [ THIS ]Any ideas on how I can improve it or what I should try next? | |

| Interesting. Are these actions that you've found or did you do them manually? | |

| A couple are action based. The rest ae my dabblings that I've used on my photos. The ones that weren't dabbled with via the camera. | |

Also, please comment on mine. The 'watch' is an action. So is the 2nd and 7th is the same action I reversed colours in it. The rest are my pds/filters I have created using them on my own photos. How i did the 4th, its made using, desatuate colour, filter max black, filter max white, layers of white and black and lilac and dusky blue using blening in varying strengths and using soft, ovelay, multiply etc to get the colour as it is. Blurring to get that soft focus, which I think I may have over blurred it. Burn for shadowing and hilighting. Think that is about right. Last one is similar but without the blur soft foccusing and I used light sepia tones. Comment on yours, What stood out for me is it didn't look like a water colour, I was expecting something along the lines of Ricks. I like what you did to it. To gain a more water colour effect, try upping both the water contents and saturation and paper? Personal choice. I like what Rick has done too, especially the 2nd one. | |

| You did that effect, 4 and 8, on my photo I sent you. Really cool effect. Still don't like the watch. | |

| Thank you, yes. I suppose more than straight watercolour I was thinking print; to add paper texture in any meaningful way might be too difficult considering the method but I will try it at some stage. I don't know what you mean by upping the water contents and I do think that, as a medium, watercolour is slightly washed out. However, I do have several versions and it's relatively easy to mess with saturation and contrast, etc after the fact anyway. For example, here is a deeper version that I have - Is that closer to what you imagined? | |

| There are paper textures you can add as well as using filters to replicate a watercolour. | |

| I'm not sure that I have the psd anymore but I'll certainly look at your suggestions for future stuff. Thanks | |
