In the absence of Defoe through injury i'd give Carlton Cole a go alongside Rooney..

James, Lescott, Brown and Heskey would get nowhere near the squad..

Ryan Shawcross is probably the most consistent English Centre Half of the latter end of last season and the beginning of this. he's making far less mistakes than the others in his position, only one near his level is Cahill from Bolton...
But will they get a look in.........nah

Robinson in the squad, he deserves a shot in the team

My XI is pretty much yours bar Robinson for Green and Crouch for Cole.

Yeah, Robinson kept out a double figure score against Arsenal mate....

And we know what crouch can do, so hence the Cole inclusion instead ( as we've already qualified )

But it has to be Defoe from the start when he's fit with the form he's in...
