In my view, a contract doesn't mean a thing today, most companies only ever sign you on for short term and then either let you go or extend your contract, there's no such thing as job security in any sector (well any of the lower class sectors) If they want to cost cut they let you go giving obscure reasons.
Why does privatisation of the social security system not surprise me?
The government have done it (or tried to) with everything else, there can't be much more to privatise can there?
I agree with you, it's always to feed the fat cats, never the scrawny sewer rats, but I feel subdued because there is never a way to stop them!
As you know with the pottery industry, all the jobs went and nobody did a thing to stop it!
