Really fascinating stuff,
Stoke on Trent is a multi-racial community, predominantly white/Asian.......
As far as I'm aware there are two parts that are more segregated than the rest of the city, Normacot and Cobridge. There is also Shelton which used to be but is now classed more as a student town.......
The area I live in is mixed, white's and Asians get along together mostly, I grew up going to a mixed race school and have friends who are Asian, I've been to their house and they mine........
If I were to go to Normacot the situation may be different, I know of one shop that has a sign saying "No whites allowed" but it still wouldn't bother me to walk through there. Most of the fighting is inter-racial there, caste against caste.
90% of the taxi companies are Asian run and are used by mostly white people, 70% of corner shops are Asian owned and mostly used by white people. As yet there are probably only one or two schools that are predomanantly Asian.
Why is it that some areas can intergrate with each other better than others?
