| Bloody Delia Smith eh? I think to meself "Everytime I make Roast Potatoes, they just never taste quite right" So I goes to find what delia would do online ... "Gently boil the potatoes for 10 minutes first" Check "Then drain off the water. Place the lid back on the saucepan, and, holding the lid on firmly with your hand protected by a cloth or oven glove, shake the saucepan vigorously up and down. This shaking roughens up the cooked edges of the potato and makes them floury and fluffy – this is the secret of the crunchy edges."Which is exactly what I did! Only when I open the pan to have a peak at me spuds, seems the 'vigorous shaking' has fookin' mashed 'em!!! Seems me and Delia have a difference of opinion on what 'vigorous' means | |

Just standard white potatoes from Morrisons ... the 2 or 3 that I salvaged tasted the part. I probably just twatted them around a bit to much ...

Attempt number two at making the perfect roast potatoe ... wont be following Delia again par boil them stick them next to the joint spoon a little of the juices over the top of the spuds then grind some rock salt over the top of the spuds thats it m8 the salt should get the spuds to draw all the juices up into the spud leaving the tops brown ,and the bottoms should go like a toffee apple edit i like to use a bit of butter and oil in the bttm of the tray with one or two smashed cloves of garlic
